I like to have a shower and not a bath. I also like to have a walk-in shower and not a shower over bath.

I am finding that when I contact a hotel in Ireland they seem to think that I am looking for an accessible shower. That I am disabled.

I would never take a room with an accessible shower just in case I was taking it from a disabled person.

What can I do to avoid the back and forth emails clarifying the situation.

I am constantly amazed at the number of hotel websites that have multiple photos of bedrooms showing multiple shots of the bed from every angle, coffee cups, chairs, photos on the wall etc. but nil photos of the bathrooms.
In the room information they refer to en-suite. You end up not knowing if you are getting a room with a bath, a room with a shower or a room with a walk-in shower.
I remember seeking this information from a country hotel in Ireland last year and the manager said "why would anybody want to know" that.

Phone them?
If you are making a booking on line and if the hotel has a website, there should be no need to phone them.

Bedrooms should have photos of the bathrooms alongside.

Many hotels also just use Booking.com or similar so you cannot make direct contact. Usually hotels abroad.

Staff should not assume that someone is disabled just because they ask for a walk-in shower. A proper website could sort this.

Some hotels have identical rooms but many don’t so they’d need to have photos of all rooms and a booking system that allowed you to select a specific room, that’s getting complex.

Yeah, a phone call is a good idea. Or only stay in hotels with all rooms pictured and selectable…

Phone them and give them advice on how to improve their website?
What a ridiculous comment. You just can't resist can you.

Yet another interesting thread ruined by comments like this from you.

Brendan, why do you allow comments like this from this person. Since joining AAM back in 2005 I have seen thousands of them. Yet you continue to tolerate them.
