Healthcare costs - not insurance Waiting for Hospital Bill?

Hi folks. does anyone have experience of how long it might take for HSE/Public Hospital go issue a bill?
Waiting for Day Case Inpatient bills (several €407) and would prefer to pay as you go rather than have it build up

As far as I know, there are two fees in public hosps:

(1) arrive via ED = 100 euro

(2) stay overnight as an inpatient = 80 euro


Do "in-patients" pay fees for day cases?

The consultant needs to let the hospital know the code or the procedure so they can bill accordingly. I was waiting more than 6 months once and when I phoned the hospital they were waiting for Consultant x to fill out his form and he was known for being very slow.

Yes there is a charge for someone who "elects" to attend as a private patient of €407 for day case procedures. Some insurers do not seem to cover it

I never knew that!!! I would have thought all VHI plans covered you in a public hospital Barr perhaps the excess!
