Very slow Windows Media

Hello
My brother sends me alot of e-mails with funny video clips on them but when i download them and windows media player play them it shows the first frame of the video and then it jumps half way through the video but at the same time the sound is going ...... so i am hearing the video but not really seeing it.
Any way i can sort this out ?

Does WMP generally work OK otherwise? Maybe your machine is underpowered for playing video content?
 
It used to work fine but when you say that it may be under power, i am thinking you might be right. How would one sort that out !!!
 
If it used to work fine but is now slower then you need to start looking for the root cause - e.g. too many applications/services competing for resources. Possibly including malware etc.
