Ventilation Fans For Bathrooms?

Hi,

I almost ready for external wet dash plastering on self-build. There are no wall vents in any rooms because i'm using trickle vents in every window. I was wondering if i need to have extraction/ventillation fans in my bathrooms? I have seen these in most new houses these days but they don't seem very effective after having a shower because the bathroom is still full of steam.
Will window vents suffice or should i use these fans?

I would put in the fan, it will help move the stem out faster and keep the air circulating. Tou often see pain peeling in bathrooms from condensation, if the fan was there it would help to sort out that problem

You need a fan in a bathroom. One with an overrun is best. Why the ones that you visited were so steamy beats me. Fit it before you wet dash - otherwise you'll have an obvious making good patch. The window vents are a waste of time for this type of airing.

My snag guy told me that the Building regs state that their must be extractor fans in BATHrooms, not specifically in En-Suites etc but it states BATHrooms, so rooms with a bath.

You should deffo check further into the window vents issue as I think there is a regulation in relation to the amount of ventilation into a room.

Is it better to have the Mechanical Extract Fan mounted on a wall or the ceiling in bathrooms and utility rooms etc

I would put in the fan for sure, they are a great addition and the trickle vents you speak of aren't much cop for this sorta thing.
