Velux Planning Permission?

Hi, I live in Wicklow and have a detached bungalow in a rural location ( no neighbours overlooking etc, approx 200mts from the public road), I wanted to convert the attic and put velux windows in the roof, do I need planning for this? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, you will need PP if putting it at the front of the house and not if doing so at the rear of the house. Stand to be corrected though.

As above, generally to the rear they are considered exempted development.

If in any doubt, you can request a Declaration of Exemption from your LA, (SDCC example) that will cover you and may be useful to show compliance should you ever go to sell the property.
