vat and the revune

My parnter owes a good bit of vat and for the last number of months i have been trying to remortge the house to get the money to settle with the tax man.But the bank is just after turning me down for a mortage.

We have no loans expect i have 2 credit cards and a small overdraft of €500.

I am not trying to get out of paying the banks have siad they will look at it in 3 months time.What will the revune do if i just tell them i can't get it are they going to keep adding intrest to it.

has anyone any ideas

Revenue will want confirmation of your financial position - budget information and cashflow forecasts in order to agree staged payments.
Interest will be charged on late payment.
Ask your accountant to approach the Revenue for you.

I have asked him and he is of no help so going to go to them ourselves and see what happnes going to offer an up front poayment that we have in saving's and see what they say.
