I'm not sure any of the DOGE guys were qualified to audit government spending. Was it not all AI fixing it.
 
Trumps approval rating in the USA is still over 40%. Some polls have him at 50%.

A lot has happened and nothing has happened. It's just the same crazy unwinding of the post Second World War world order and the slow motion destruction of international law which at least played lip service to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and was grounded in the belief that representative democracy was the best method of forming a government.

To all of the soft headed pseudo-liberals who spent their time criticising interventionism by America and former Colonial powers in Europe, well you've got what you wished for. Let's see how it all pans out.

You didn't like democracy funded by a capitalist system which provided social security and public services so now you'll get oligarchs and dictators and police states and economic imperialism by China and others. You'll get an even bigger increase in nationalism, even more environmental destruction, mass migration, racism and xenophobia, and the kind of starvation and disease that we haven't seen in 40 years.

The Daily Telegraph had a headline a while back which said that Europe's holiday from history is over. We in Ireland are still sitting in our deckchair sipping our cocktail while other passengers have their live jackets on and are already in the lifeboats as the ship lurches into the sea. Occasionally we do criticise the other passengers and bemoan their treatment of each other while we do nothing to help anyone, including ourselves.

So no change really, just business as usual.
