I have just noticed that I haven't been claiming any TRS on my home mortgage. I have been living in the property for 4 years now.

If I apply for this TRS now, will I receive credit for the unclaimed portion? How long more can I claim relief for?
 
You can backdate the claim for up to 4 tax years. You better claim the 2003 relief soon - i.e. before the end of 2007!

You can claim relief for the full lifetime of the mortgage but the rates change after you have claimed 7 years of "FTB" relief.

complete it and send it into the revenue
they should set it up in the next 6 weeks or so.
 
call the Revenue on - 1890 463 626

they will send out the appropriate forms to claim the backdated tax.

the current TRS form is only valid effectively for this year and by completing it it will only allow the Lender to address the tax relief in the current tax year.
