The Competition Commission was notified yesterday of the proposed takeover of Ulster Bank mortgages by ptsb.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is an independent statutory body that enforces competition and consumer protection law in Ireland

The Commission is now doing a Preliminary Investigation and invites submissions from third parties.

As an Ulster Bank customer you will pay far higher mortgage rates to permanent tsb and you should ask the Commission to build in protections so that this will not happen.
