I am due a refund from HMRC for VAT. They say they need to pay the account in GBP and into a company bank account. The issue is while I have a business bank account it is in Rep of Ireland and only takes EUR payments. Consequently, HMRC cannot seem to make the bank transfer.
HMRC will not issue a draft or cheque and payment needs to be by bank transfer to a GBP business account. Even through I have a personal GBP account they will not transfer to this.
Seems I need to setup a business bank account in GBP for this transfer - will then probably close it. Anyone know the easiest bank (I guess in Northern Ireland) to setup a business account in to process this refund or any other ideas?
