UK Employer but working remotely from Ireland

Hi there,

I've been offered a permanent contract by a UK company, they don't have an office in Ireland and I will be working here remotely.

Does anyone know how banks look at this if applying for a mortgage? Aslong as I'm getting paid each month into an Irish account does it actually matter?

Thanks

Due to the EU Mortgage Credit Directive getting a Mortgage on a foreign income will be quite difficult. You will be very limited in the banks that will actually lend. It may only be BOI that will consider an application and even then they will only consider a % if your salary (possibly about 80%)

If you are working in Ireland your UK employer should register as an Irish employer and pay you on an Irish payroll system and your taxes to Revenue.
