UB for 8 months: remain on for 15 months, what impact on COAP or other SW benefits?

Hi
I am receiving unemployment benefit for the last 8 months is it true that if i continue to receive this for the full 15 months it will effect my my futher benefits like my pension etc .I am 57

Take note that you need 520 (10 years) paid contributions(class A) to get a contributary old age pension. Certain people eg returning immegrants, ex civil servants & married women returning to the workforce late in life need to watch out here.

Is this ten years over your lifetime, or within a certain period?
