I’m trying to move TV, broadband and phone from Virgin Media to Sky. Sky’s online application is looking for a 6 digit ‘Asset ID’ which I believe is the UAN. Virgin Media tell me that is my account number but that’s an 8 digit number.
Anyone have similar issue previously?

UAN (Universal Account Number) is an 8-digit number referring to the customer identity, Service ID or Asset ID is a reference to the fibre line. Both should be listed on the bill.

Thanks. It’s definitely not on my bills. Just the account number, which I presume is the UAN. No other ID numbers.

Your current provider should be able to give it to you. Vodafone and others include both on their bills, funnily Virgin suggest looking at the bills also.

You need to clarify with Sky what exactly they're looking for here instead of assuming that it's a UAN.

If it is a UAN then see here:
In some circumstances a consumer will need a a Universal Account Number UAN to switch their service from one provider to another. If this applies to you the UAN should be displayed on your bill. If you encounter an issue where the UAN is not on your bill please request this from your service provider. If you do not receive this please contact ComReg’s consumer care team.
