no. they are sold on an annual basis. you can pay by interest free direct debits.

I think that's what peteb is saying. It's just the case that you're paying in instalments for an annual license.

You can buy TV licence stamps in your local post office.

You can pay by 12 monthly direct debits. If you move away or stop having a tv, you could simply stop the direct debit.

Tv licence stamps are different. This allows you save in advance for the purchase of a licence and the stamps can be used in full or partial payment (depending on how many you have) of the €160 fee.

With the monthly direct debit available, the use of stamps is no longer popular.
