Where can i buy am 'RTE' aerial (Just for RTE1, RTE2, TV3 and TnG)?
Also, are these difficult to install?

I saw an aerial on a neighbours house, where it was in the attic

Cheers,
Which one do I need for the 4 channels?
Do I need a booster or any other stuff??

I bought a UHF/VHF TV aerial in Maplins (off Parnell St), for about Euro35.

I put it in the attic and brought the cable down to the kitchen TV. Reception of RTE1/1/TG4/TV3 is perfect. Can also get BBc1/2, ITV and Ch4 with varying degrees of snowyness, but certainly watchable. I am in Swords, so near enough to NI to pick these up.

Reception quality depends on where in the country you live, but most parts should have no problem with Irish channels, even without a booster.

redstar - have you ever tried it outdoors (i.e. not enclosed in the attic) to see what improvements in reception of UK channels you get?

I tried it at first and there wasn't enough of a difference to warrant the hassle of mounting it outside, so i went for the attic as its more secure against the elements.

Interesting. I was often tempted to try such a setup as yours even just for the craic of conducting the experiment.

to know which aerial you need you need to know where you live and which is your nearest Transmitter! Without that, noone specialised can help you. I suggest though that you go to boards.ie. there is a specific discussion board on terrestrial TV reception. Its in Hosted/ICDG
