Need to rip out old bathroom and kitchen. In order to do this have to turn off water and drain the system as there are no stop valves on any of the pipes (kichen sink, bathroom fittings etc)

Anyone know where the stop cock/valve would be located for mains into the house? In the attic or on the road?

Any help appreciated!

Cheers

Road, but may also be on in the attic. The other option is to tie up the ball in the tank, as the bathroom is normally not mains feed.

Its usually right in front of your garden gate

Maybe the poor guy has no garden and no gate.

It's somewhere near the house that's for sure.

I found mine by trial and error, I'm in an apartment block, it wasn't labelled.

It was on the footpath.

Bathroom I can handle. as above I can tie up the ball in the tank but would like to do kitchen same weekend so need the mains off. Will check outside the house.

Its a terracced ex council house if thats any use (not sure if they located these things in the same places)

Thanks

Try underneath the kitchen sink, follow the cold pipe down, could be further down behind kitchen unitss

It it's an old council terraced then Chris is correct - it should be located under the sink ( if sink is in the original position ) - you shoulld find a tap on the pipe rising from the ground.

Not underneath the sink! the pipes from the sink are chased into a wall, then come out where the wall meets the ceiling. No idea where these go. Il look outside the front later and see if its there
