This may be seen as somewhat of a dodgy subject but I shall proceed anyway. It was recently announced that Ireland is to double its 10 million to 20 million to aid the Tsunami fund. While this is a very worthwhile cause and I dont for one second begrudge the money, I have a query. How can the Government sanction this extra money at the same time that 400+ patients are laying on trolleys in our hospitals because funding to open wards and/or new bed spaces is apparently unavailable. Surely charity begins at home to some extent. The Irish public have been more than generous in aiding the Tsunami so I think the Govt. should maybe concentrate a little more on what is happening at home. A lot of people may disagree but feel free to air your views.
