i was told that salt is great stuff for cleaning cobble stone or castle stone and deterring weeds. i tried it and it killed all weeds and the stone is nice and shiny. i am just worried if doing this too often would damage the stone? the salt i use is granular water softner salt.
funnily enough when i was buying the salt from the local co-op the lad working there asked me was i another one using the salt for cobble lock, its a very popular treatment method apparently. i know using salt in icy weather is a no no, but is it ok in mild weather?
