Travel Insurance which covers multiple Pre-Existing Conditions

The UK company I have used for years is unable to continue covering me due to Brexit.

I need an Annual Worldwide Travel policy that covers multiple pre-existing conditions. Can anyone suggest a company, please?.

I expect it to be expensive (UK one costs me €600+) and I accept that. I just cannot travel without full cover.

Insure and Go won't offer me medical cover for several conditions I have, so is useless.

I would appreciate any advice offered.

Thank you again.

Thanks

Getcover and Multitrip both cover pre existing medical conditions but you have to ring another number to declare them

Unfortunately I think most of the well known brokers use the same underwriters as Insure and Go: Mapfre, so may have the same limitations.

Maybe try Accident & General, or insuremyholiday.ie. They both have their own medical screening team, rather than an online "computer says no".

Another one to try is the AA. Travel insurance underwriter is Inter Partner Assistance SA (Axa), and they do medical screening by phone.

I've no idea if they provide cover for existing conditions, but you could try Glennons. Their travel underwriter is Chubb, so may be different to Mapfre.

Unfortunately not only has Brexit had an impact, but with Covid there's less demand at the moment for brokers to go to the effort of creating a new product.

Blue insurance / multi-trip had a product cleartotravel.com that covered non-standard cases, but they've temporarily suspended new quotes pending a review of new regulations as the product was offered via the UK.

Before Brexit we used to do a small bit of business with a UK firm called Pulse. ([broken link removed]) They specialise in arranging cover that's otherwise hard to place and they do arrange travel insurance.

I saw last month that they had acquired a majority stake in a Brussels firm and I understand that this was to allow them to trade freely in the EU again, as they did before Brexit. I honestly don't know if this means that they're offering travel insurance to Irish residents now, but it would probably be worth an enquiry.

Thanks a million for this. I shall certainly look at those.

I'll certainly enquire. Thank you so much for your time.

Just a quick update.

Five 'No's so far. I'm still trying!

Hi,

Have you tried contacting Multitrip?

As far as I remember MultiTrip states in their T&C's that if you have private health insurance with medical cover abroad of at least €50'000 you don't need to declare your medical issues, presumably because your health insurance would be covering that chunk of the bill.

Although it doesn't state it, I imagine this assumes that the ailment/injury in question is not excluded by your health insurers 5 year pre existing condition waiting period.

Thanks Starrynights.

Don't have private health insurance. Thank you so much for engaging, though. Appreciate you taking the time to help.

Darth.
