Hi,my father is looking for insurance to cover him while he travels (worldwide) ,up to 6mths,he is 78 but is finding it difficult to find any options for cover ,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I just bought travel insurance for my mum (she is 75) it was only single cover and for the UK but they had various options and covers. I booked with One Direct. An Post recommended them to my mum.
Try Accident and General. They cover anyone of any age but of course the premium is higher for older people. If your father has private medical insurance then the travel ins will be a lot cheaper.
The insurance companies can be very fussy, I am 69 and was refused last year because I am on anti-depressant tablets. The daft thing is I have SADs and it goes off in the sunny places. I told them they are losing a lot of business because half the country is on them.
