Hi, approx. 2 years ago, I started a standard PRSA (Eagle Star). It is currently valued at approx. €11K. I am in PAYE employment but set up the PRSA independently i.e. it was not offered by my employer.
I am now changing jobs. My new employer offers a defined contribution pension plan. I am obliged to pay 5% of my gross salary. The employer will also contribute.
Questions:
Can I transfer the €11K to the new pension plan?
Is there a cost to transfer/close the PRSA?
Is it better to keep the two pensions open (although I would not intend to contribute much to the PRSA going forward)?
Any other suggestions welcome.
