Are these, or something similiar available in Ireland anywhere? The sites showing up when I go google are all USA based and as you seem to need to be able to get new liquid cleaner stuff for it I don't want to be shipping from USA all the time...

skipdoctor - available in most dvd / game shots. i think it costs about double though so maybe amreica is the way to go

Re: ..

If you have access to a PC with a DVD writer then it may be possible to do a "repair" by copying the DVD and writing it to a new one - especially if the copying software supports multiple reads/sampling of the souce DVD so that it can infer/extrapolate any missing bits due to scratches/cracks. I'm not totally au fait with the technicalities or legalities but I think that you will need [broken link removed] (to crack the DVD copy protection) and/or [broken link removed] (to fit the DVD contents on a single layer c. 4.7GB (?) DVD+/-R unless you can use higher capacity dual layer media) as well as a tool (most likely free ones are available) to copy the original (DVD Shrink may do all of this) and write a new one (Burnatonce is a nice, simple, small and free CD/DVD writer tool and, in my experience, more reliable than other commercial tools). I also suspect that this is technically illegal but it really depends on the terms & conditions of the licensing agreement governing the DVD software. Your best bet might be to use Google to find tutorials on this stuff first and see if it might be a runner in this case. The DVD Demystified FAQ might be a good place to start.
