to DIY or not to DIY: Stone Patio

I've been doing a few gardening DIYs in my back garden and now i want to tackle the front garden. The entire front garden is about 4m x 6m of topsoil at the moment. The current plan is to create a smaller rectangle inside it of 2.2m x 4m. The corners would be 1 stone slab each and connecting each slab would be bricks and fill it with gravel.

Has anyone ever done a similar DIY? And how much did it cost you?

I'm trying to see if it's worth the saving doing it myself and getting the materials directly or to just cough up the cash and get another person to do it.

I’d say go for it if you have the time and patience. There are loads of videos on YouTube that will assist. We just paid to get patio down as we did not have time but I know we would have done a much better job then we paid for. Very poor work.
