Timber for Garden suppliers

Hi all,

I am looking for opinions regarding good places to source timber and some garden supplies. I am looking for places with good value.

I am living in south Dublin.

I am looking to build some raised beds and also get some trellising for the garden, looking to source the materials at a good price (second hand, good condition consider as well).

I priced lengths of 6*2 for building the beds locally in Woddies and Chadwicks and Chadwicks was the cheaper working out at ~€1 + VAT per foot. This seems expensive to me??

I also looked at used scaffolding boards in Chadwicks, but these could only be bought in min 50 planks, which is too much for me needs.

Anyone have any opinions on the price above and recommendations for anywhere else better value.

Make sure to ask for pressure treated timber if using for raised beds

Ill take a look at the link.

I plan on growing veg in the beds and was under the impression that pressure treated timber should not be used for veg beds?

I think if you line the inside of the timber with polythene or similar, then the soil wont come into contact with the timber
