Three have launched a 'prepaid broadband service' - see
I was looking forward to this offering and was expecting a prepaid model similar to mobile phones.
- You buy credit
- You use it up over time
- You buy more when it runs out.
Their offering seems to much closer to contract phones:
- You use the phone
- You get a bill on a monthly basis.
Here's what they are offering:
- You buy the ability to use broadband for a day week or month
(eg 1 month = eur 25.00)
- You use it for a day week or month
- You buy more
I was hoping for something like
- You buy 10Gb worth of credit
- You use it up over time
- You buy more when it runs out.
The advantage to me of prepaid mobile phones is that you save money over contract rates by beig carefull with your calls. What Three are offering for prepaid broadband costs more instead of less than their contract offering (EUR 20.00/m)
Oh well. Sorry for moaning... Maybe one of the other operators will deliver a more affordable mobile broadband offering.
