Thought Experiment: 55, retired and managing assets.

If OP is single and has no dependents, shouldn't his/her objective be to die with zero assets?

I know this impossible to time perfectly, and there may be unforeseen healthcare costs, but perhaps, it would be worth considering selling/equity release in the bungalow.
