EU could fast-track Britain’s membership if UK decided to reverse Brexit
Seems to be a bit of momentum gathering for UK to re-join EU in some quarters and in recent polling.
1. Is it a good thing for UK to re-join?
2. Will the British people express that in Br-entry referendum?
3. What if they do re-join and in a few of years after doing so they vote to leave again?
Personally my preference would be that it would probably be a good thing that they try to re-join. However, I do think it may open a more hardened nationalistic British can of worms and possibly cause more political instability in the round for Britain and Ireland, which would be bad.
The conditions for joining the EU now are to meet the criteria for joining the Euro and going by past events, the British people will not want to give up their financial sovereignty.
I can't see it happening, not it the next 5yrs anyway.
