Are you getting the best value from your pharmacy? The consumer watchdog wants to find out
The CCPC says they will seek to understand areas such as price transparency and consumer switching.
I discovered a few years ago that the gel I was prescribed was available without prescription as well. When I went to buy it over the counter they charged me twice the price. Did you bring the script to the chemist and asked what price they were if prescribed ?Funnily enough was with the consultant yesterday and she prescribed me with a medicine which can also be bought over the counter as well
Yes brought the script to CW and was told it was the same price either wayDid you bring the script to the chemist and asked what price they were if prescribed ?
If you get it on script you could claim it back on the med 1 and get tax relief
Same here - Boots don't print out any more unless asked. No new regulation - it's an environmental initiative (i.e. cheaper!).last couple of prescriptions I've picked up they haven't included the paper receipt. I mentioned it to the mrs who is with a different pharmacy and she'd noticed the same. Has there been a change in regulations?

We ordered these along with a couple of other bits and pieces so it was worth our while to go up the North and collect it, we are 45 minutes away from the Oohpod place in Newry. As it is a UK site, do you know the cost in Euro including delivery and any customs duties etc ?
Got my August script filled yesterday in Pure and can confirm that they charged me more for the "Gaviscon Advanced" when on scripDid you bring the script to the chemist and asked what price they were if prescribed ?

As a script, you can claim for it on MED1 at 20% tax credits so that's suspiciously similar in final price... minus the 100mlsOver the counter price €16 and I was charged €20.36 for the scrip
The funny thing is the other three items on that scrip were the same price as before I signed up to the DPSAs I exceed the Drug Payment threshold most months obviously don't move around.
Yes except for the small fact I can't claim on a med 1 as I don't have any Income tax to payAs a script, you can claim for it on MED1
CW are by far the cheapest for my statins.I do feel Pure are renowned as being the cheapest for statins
I have come to a similar conclusion, Pure are cheaper than most local chemist's for the very common meds but no so for everything else.I do feel Pure are renowned as being the cheapest for statins, but I have often wondered about their prices generally.
