Health Insurance That time of year again - Health Renewal- Laya Simplicity

I only have of Laya re a person dying and they refunded the balance of the years contributions unused.

What happens if you cancel mid-year? Are you similarly entitled to a proportionate refund?
 
Small bit confused here at the min.
Are you able to cancel your current policy before renewal and choose a policy as a 'new customer' or somehow bring forward your renewal date to avoid the price increase.

Two ''Connect Simplicity'' policies due for renewal on the 01/01/2021, how can I take out the plan at 2020 prices?
eg. Renewal on 31/12/2020: €1248.39 ---------- 01/01/2021: €1360.18

Connect Simplicity is not increasing in price for those renewing on 01/01/2021 - It remains at it's current price of €1360.18

I suspect the renewal of €1248.39 on 31/12/2020 is for 11 months to 31/11/2021
