texts from Eircom cordless phones

I half heard an advert on radio today.

Is it true that it costs 3 cent to send a text from an Eircom cordless phone? If so, is that to all text receiving phones or just to other Eircom cordless text phones?

I have one of these and understood that just like an ordinary text on mobile that it is 13 cent and not 3c.
