Testing connection speed of mobile BB?

Hi - have just started a trial period for Vodafone mobile BB.

So far, during connection on different occasions it has told me that the signal was good, very good and once, excellent.

At the moment I'm told it is good - but it doesn't seem any faster than dial up to me. (light on USB stick is green)

Apparently it's worth getting an extension and bringing the stick close to a window so I'll maybe try that anyway.

Is there a reliable site (or any other way) to test connection speed? I can't find a function like this in the Vodafone software.
