Technical question on an ntl isolator box?

Hi All,

I've just been around to a friends house trying to see why her main TV is not working. This decoder in particular stopped working whilst all other connections/stb's in the house are operating perfectly she had disconnected it and plugged in the Bunny's ears. I tried another stb and it didn't work, I then bypassed the stb and connected just to receive analogue and again there's nothing. I tested/tightened all relevant connections and it made no difference, so I've narrowed it down to either the isolator box or the 'feed cable'....Does anyone know if the isolator boxes have parts that can 'blow'? It's an old type in that it's a Cablelink component.............Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

I'd say 'no'. Maybe it's been disconnected by NTL. When NTL install digital, they usually replace the old Cablelink boxes.

Maybe that particular connection is not a registered one?

The main feed into the house is working and all three 'points' are registered and official so to speak....This was her first Digi connection in the house and ntl still used old Cablelink stock for some of the early adopters !........It could be the actual cable running to that feed but unless she has a rodent chewing problem it's unlikely the cable would be the issue I think
