hi all
I am currently repeating my leaving cert honours irish with a view to doing primary school teaching next yr. I am now 25 and have a primary degree in biological sciences.I wil be applying to mary immaculate next year, but over the past few days i got thinking about applying in the UK for teacher training. It seems alot faster and the course starts next september, its only a 9 month course.
Does anyone have any good information or advise about teacher training in the UK eg, best colleges (theres so many of them its hard to decide, i know you have to do a yrs probation when u return to ireland. is that paid would you be recognised the same as if you studied in ireland?? etc

any info/advise would be appreciated as the closing date is 1st december!!!!

If you undertake the primary school teaching course in the u.k. you will also have to complete a number of exams in Ireland as well, irish, history of irish education etc. Your safest bet is to get in contact with the Teaching Council, with regards recognition and pay.

thanks mar,
do you know someone who did it?
ya i knoe you have to sit a special irish exam and also a rteligion one but never heard of an irish history one.
thanks :)
