I finished up work on 27th feb 09 and my employer seems to have taken alot of tax in my final pay check. my gross salary was 28k per annum. i was paid weekly and my final weeks take home was 923.45 - i was owed 6 and a half days hols so my gross was €1241.45 - does this amount of tax seem like alot in one week?

on the final week in a sense you got two weeks wages against one weeks tax credits/bands-the tax is probaly ok.

if you are signing on after certain number of weeks you can apply to revenue for refund of some of the tax

print off form p50 from revenue website to get a tax refund during unemployment
