I am not working and am planning to return to college. My husband will pay my fees can he claim tax relief on the fees?

The answer is probably yes and you'll find all you need to know by looking at "Tax Relief for Tuition Fees in respect of Third Level education - IT 31"

Does the registration fee count as fees, given that they really are fees but by a different name.

Can these be claimed retrospectively

and can anyone explain the effect of the amendment to the Finance Bill in relation to fees. Was away that day and did not fully hear what went on.

Thanks

Did Lowry and Healy-Rae squeeze a concession out of Lenny over the amount of fees you could claim tax relief on? Anyone have the details?

If I'm doing a two year course, 2010 to 2012, can I claim in three tax years (2010, 2011 & 2012) or just two 'academic' years (2010/2011 & 2011/2012). The it31 form seems to be set up for the latter but I was under the impression that you could claim for the former ?

The former would allow me to reclaim up to €3,000-, the latter just €2,000-
