Tax relief on new home

We are in the process of getting a new home and have few questions.

We have applied for Help to Buy scheme but unsure if there is any other important bits missing.

1. Is any other tax relief that we need to know of?

2. I am working in public sector. Would having a mortgage benefit me on monthly take home pay?

3. Apart from annual LPT do we have to pay anything else to revenue?

Thanks so much.

Public service job has no link to mortgage - don't get what you are asking here?

That's what I am looking for.

I am not into tax system at all and would like to know what are the things we need to pay and what can we claim back.

I am aware of HTB, stamp duty and LPT. I guess that's all I need to know.

Was TRS on mortgage interest abolished? I think so?

You pay stamp duty on the purchase.

You pay LPT per annum.
