I hate this tax credit thing, havnt aclue how to work things out.

Any chance someone would be so kind as to give me a break down of figuress for someone who is earnign €800 a week after tax.

ie what would their gross earnings be, how much is deducted, prsi etc for them to take home €800 a week.

This is assuming a single person.

Any help much appreiated.

Tax question

One's payslips should contain all the details that you're looking for. Are you not getting any or is this a hypothetical question?

Working backwards using [broken link removed] it looks like (in 2007) somebody earning c. €58K would take home c. €800 p.w. and their deductions would be as follows:
Weekly take home pay. (Single)
Selected Tax year is 2007
Gross Take Home Pay = € 1115.3846
Tax = € 252.3077
Take Home Pay after Tax = € 863.0769
Less PRSI = € 55.02663
Net take home pay = € 808.0503

appologies for the thread title.

its a quasi hypothetical thing. for someone in work (building trade)

cheers for the help

The calculator mentioned above assumes PRSI Class A which may not apply in all cases (e.g. self employed contractor). It also makes assumptions about common tax credits. The figures are only indicative.
