Tax on US domiciled ETFs

I'm planning on investing about 10k in ETFs and I'm looking for some advice. I'm not sure how gains on US ETFs are taxed and if they can be purchased on Degiro? What would be your general advice on US ETFs vs EU ETFs? Which one would you recommend?

In general, you won't be able to invest in US domiciled ETFs if you are living in the European Union. I have yet to come across a US domiciled ETF which publishes a KIID which complies with the MiFID regulations in the EU. If you try to purchase in Degiro, you will most likely receive a pop-up message to this effect. If you are a US citizen, you may have some options with a small (and ever reducing) number of US brokers/advisors......but you probably aren't a yank!
