I had a sterling deposit with BOS which they closed last November. Interest of 415 STG. earned and Tax deducted 103.75 Stg. It states on the statement that deposit was with BOS, Leeds - I opened it with BOS Ireland. Does this amount cover DIRT due for 2010? or do I lose this tax and am still liable for Irish tax on earned interest at DIRT rate or my marginal rate? Any advise greatly appreciated.

If you opened the account with BOSI, even if it is a GBP account, the account is subject to the laws of the Irish state, and Irish tax, so it is Irish DIRT.

Thanks Ciaran. Can you tell me where do I submit interest on a sterling 'offshore' deposit account in Lloyds, Gibralter on my Form 11.
