Tax on Home Office

I am getting some building work done and the builder has suggested I put some of it through my business as I am including a home office in the work.

He suggests this is all above board but I am not sure. Is it legal? I can't find any reference to it on the revenue.ie site.

It sounds like a load of baloney. For a start there are no tax reliefs on expenditure on buildings used for business purposes (unless you count tax-designated properties, which are dwindling and will soon expire altogether). Have you taken professional advice on this?
