Tax on group charity donations

if a charity is partnered with a corporate body with 100 retail outlets collecting change in boxes at tills does the company owning the brand doing the collecting get tax relief ? Say if 1m was raised in different ways including the above ?

I'd say in the case where a shop facilities collecting be it using buckets or till boxes they do not get the relief. In my mind for the tax relief on donations to apply the company has to pay the money out of their own pocket
