Tax on award/prize

Hi,

My cousin who is an employee (PAYE) in a company in Dublin studied part-time Masters in one of the Irish universities. As a part of her master's she did a thesis which won an excellence award (cash award of Euro 600) in the university. We are wondering if she needs to pay tax for that award. if yes, does she need to file tax returns and declare the amount?
