Hi,

Recently got a gross increase of salary of €68 per fortnight. In public sector salary about 57k. It translates to €28 net. Is this right. Or is something radically wrong. Looks like I'm getting 40% of it into my hand. Thought I'd at least get almost half. I'm grateful to be getting anything but at that rate I'd really wonder about going for any kind of promotion TBH.

Stark figures there but pretty much covers it. No wonder Stephen Kinsella said it was hard to talk about net figures for those over 40k. Anyway it is better than nothing I suppose.

It is not 6.5% on all of the total 57000 euro

Prd=pension related deduction

Yes, and that's a deduction separate from the actual pension contribution.

A cut in gross pay, by another name. Thousands of people pay it / have paid it and aren't even in a PS pension scheme.

Any excess over €28,750
but not over €60,000
