Tax clearance after probate granted

I have tried to search prior threads on this but I am still unsure. Basically I am wondering once probate is granted has the Revenue accessed enough information from the SA.2 to automatically complete the tax clearance element for the deceased person ? Can you apply for tax clearance at the same time as sending in the SA.2

Can the solicitor immediately sign over assets and release cash to beneficiaries once probate is granted or do you have to wait until probate is granted and then a tax clearance done and then wait the 35 days ?

I am wondering as the SA.2 process is relatively new so maybe both the probate application and tax clearance are now done at the same time as Revenue can see lots on the form ?

In the middle of probate as executor.
Our solicitor said funds from estate cannot be distributed until there's a tax clearance cert for the year of death, otherwise as I understand it there could be revenue debts which weren't paid before the estate is distributed.

A prudent solicitor won't release funds until that cert is got, when done previously it took me around 6 weeks but could be faster if the solicitor doesn't dawdle.

Is it a form 12 or 12S I will need ? Revenue want the PAYE return for 4 months of 2025. Where would I get the state and private pension figures for that ? thank you

Can't you do it via the relevant Revenue myAccount rather than on a paper form?

I have no access to My Account now once Revenue were informed that the person passes away they shut it down don't they ? I have tried logging in with the PPS no etc and it wont allow it ? The solicitor says we have to do a PAYE return .

Ah, ok. That makes sense.

Form 12S is a simplified Form 12.
If it covers the issues that are relevant here then use 12S otherwise use 12 I guess?

Thank you Clubman. I am trying to see if I need figures from the Dept of social protection for pension received....I guess I'll have to start with deciding which form to use.
