If a landlord supplies heating oil to a tenant as part of a rental agreement can the LL claim that as an expense?

Not advisable, this is utility bill the tenant should pick up. Do you pay the waste charge as well?

Normally as with ESB when a house is vacant I do claim for the cost. I don't know if you could claim for a full tank of oil unless of course the bill is to the rental address.

ya, tenant fell on tough times, so to help him through winter and keep occupancy in a difficult location oil was offered to keep him there

i have claimed for oil put into house by me, done all by accountant, its an expense after all
