According to my Garda Pension section, the supplementary part of it which i recieved up to february of this year 2026 along with the relevant % increases is now with DPERS, I also asked my pension section about lump sum which i was due from retirement in may 2022 to Aug 2024 again i was told this was with DPERS, anyone having same issue, and can i do anything about it, many thanks for constructive replies

DPER is not supposed to have any role in your pension . Your entitled to your pension figures as if you were a Pre95 retiree , the Supplementary Pension is to bridge the gap until you claim the old age pension in your own right . Now can you tell us if your looking to claim backdated Supplemtary Pension from May 22 ( I assume your retirement date and Aug 24 when the new circular came into effect .)
Again during this time did you claim SW or were working ?
Why was it cut off in Feb ? If your not working or claiming SW payments then you should be getting it ? Did you send in a fresh from to claim it again , it must be claimed each year as it does not roll over automatically .

Many thanks for replies, Yes looking for backdated Supplementary from retirement date till Aug 2024 circular, i havent worked since and went through the process of claiming SW ( jobseekers benefit) for circa 9 months, then went on full supplementary which didnt recieve % national wage agreements until Aug circular, I was recieving % supplementary increases up until past 2 wage increases.
I have returned the form to justice for past few yrs.
Up until recently i was told by pensions that the back money due to me was with DPERS this past 2yrs! and reason i didnt recieve past 2 % increases was pensions have to do Supplementary manually for post 1995 members and they dont have the staff.
I phoned pensions killarmey this week and was told both issues are now with DPERS absolute S--t Show

I’m a teacher. - retired - Waiting on my supplementary pension. Since end August. While it’s only 2 months nearly I wish they’d hurry on. I’m living on the part that comes from the department of education. I wish our pensions were easier sorted. I agree it’s bad treatment !!!!

Re the pay increases , as a decent chunk of your pension figures will contain allowances to the best of my knowledge that portion never goes up with a pay increase . Its only your salary part of your pension that matches pay increases for the public sector . The overall pension is to be same as if you were pre95 and the supplementary bit is the old age pension payment , combined these will never exceed your overall pension entitlement .

Re blanketyblank , the Supplementary bit will be backdated to when you retired .

Standard pensionable allowances generally do increase in the pay rounds and should be reflected in your pension if it had formed part of your pensionable remuneration.

However, it sometimes happens that a new allowance, grade, etc. is brought in after you retired. This usually only relates to circumscribed sectors and is not pensionable for those already retired.

Thanks for replies all, up to March 2026 my Supplementary pension was getting the % wage increases which is as it should be, having phoned my pension dept the week just passed, they said they cant apply the last 2 increases to supplementary part of pension as its with DPERS, in other words there is nothing they or i can do but wait! I asked to speak to a principal officer , they dont have one only an APO who they will pass my query to, i doubt i will here any more going on my past experiences with the Supplementary part of my post 1995 pension
