Summer Job in banks.

Any body know if any of the banks have advertised summer work for students or where one could get info re same. I have looked at some bank website but cannot find anything.
 
Would suspect it will be very unlikely that bank's will take on many (if any) for work this summer. Bank's like all businesses in the current climate have to focus on their cost base, and my suspicion is that there will be very few if any opportunities.

Having said that make sure you approach your local bank branches with your CV, sometimes it's all about being in the right place at the right time, and you could be lucky. Are you Dublin based (or willing to go to Dublin) ? - staff turnover tends to be higher there, which may improve your chances.

Thanks Bank Manager. We were unsure if we should approach our local branch or if the banks had a central office for applications. Not in Dublin but will check locally.
 
I know some of the banks are using temp agencies for short term requirements, if you are in Dublin, suggest you try Grafton Recruitment or Kellys. Note they are getting quite strict on vetting staff as well so you may be asked for more documentation then you would if you were working elsewhere
 
To be honest it's basically down to who you know, I know in one bank the summer student scheme is called "Who's your daddy!!". If your or anybody is friendly with your local bank manager I'd give them a shout
