Suitable Roof Finish for 18 degree Pitch Roof

I've just got planning permission for a house designed by an Architect. The planners were very strict on the ridge height in the area, this limited us on the roof height. The Architect has indicated a 'Slate' roof finish on an 18 degree pitch roof.
Is this possible?

Hi, would recommend contacting Kingspan or having a look on their website. Had a similar situation on a large scale project and we went with the Kingspan cladding system. Would recommend using something as 18 deg, seems very low.

We were also restricted in height 'from existing ground level to ridge level'.

So, we decided to dig 75cm into the 'existing ground' (it's a 2 acre site so you wouldn't even notice it) and build our house to the height we wanted it to be.

Needless to say, we ran it by our planners first and they approved it.

This option might just save you having a low pitch. I know ours is at 28 degrees and a lot of roofers thought it was very low for natural slate. THeir thoughts were that the wind would catch them easier and possibly blow them off.
