Suggestions on Personal Tax Courses

I'm interested in taking a tax course this autumn. Just to understand more about personal taxes, prsi, levies, DIRT etc. Any suggestions?
 
I'm considering doing Tax Technician course. Would this course enable me to do tax returns for sole traders, small business, self assessed individuals?
If it does would it be realistic to expect to pick up some work doing these sort of returns? I'd like to work from home.
Does the economic situation make this an unrealistic proposition or would the costs od accountants make sole traders look elsewhere for their tax needs?
 
In my opinion, you really need to gain experience in the work in addition to doing a course.
You would only learn the basics on a Tax Technician course. You may also find it difficult to get any Professional Indemnity Insurance if you do not have the relevant work experience.
