Hi Violet.
I am in the situation as you except for the fact that the positions that are offerred are based in Isreal/Japan and America. If anyone has any info regarding the legality of this, can ye post it up here please. Also, is there a standard relocation package that the are required to offer employees.
I must stress that these options do not suit any of the employees that are affected and no redundancy is being offerred as yet(not expecting much even if it is offerred).

Re: Redeployment - Redundancy

The trade unions are very well up this issue.

I think there are two aspects to it:

The statutory obligations of the employer and..
Any negotiated agreement with individual employees and/or their representatives (trade unions), such agreements often go beyond the statutory obligations.

Re: Redeployment - Redundancy

No trade union where I work. Currently based as a contractor with a large semiconductor company in Leixlip! so no chance of union getting in....

Damien,

I split your post from that of RV. Perhaps you could edit and expand your original question?

Thanks,
